These specially handcrafted barrels are made from French oak, not varnished not waxed - The real McCoy for spirit ageing. They are ideal barrel for spirit ageing Brandy, Whisky, Calvados, wine, chili sauces and much more.

- Taps are not included. The stainless steel tap should be ordered separately and we will fit it to the barrel.
Please note:
- We regularly steam our barrels slightly to prevent them from drying out too much. However, once we ship them, we have no control over the barrel and cannot guarantee that it will be leak-free. As such, our barrels are not guaranteed to be leak-free. The right conditioning will assist you in maintaining a leak-free barrel for many years. Once filled, NEVER allow your barrel to dry out (especially during dry seasons).

Pretty barrel to store and age my mead brandy
Great workmanship, the Blog's by Distillique on mini-cask maturation is both interesting and informative.
The cask itself is perfect for an "infinity Cask" i.e. instead of a bottle for the last shots in a soon to be killed whisky bottle, pour it into a infinity cask and enjoy a blended dram from time to time of all the good ones you have enjoyed.
Will require a bit of work to "run it in", no sweat. Look forward to it.
Great craftmanship on the cask, no leaks detected at all. Would have been better with brass rings, but, those are hard to come by.

Exactly what I wanted for experimenting with.
No frills cask which will be used to evaluate certain Sherry finishes on certain whisky styles.
Find that a Free Flow Pourer is perfect to avoid any spillages and avoid chunky pieces of wood coming out.
Did a leak test for 5 days, no leaks observed.
