Testing and serializing your still
As a licensed and registered still manufacturer, Distillique may legally manufacture, repair and sell stills.
If you have a still without serial number we will inspect the still according to requirements, repair it if required, and fix a serial plate to the still if it complies to all the requirements.
After inspection and issuing of a still serial number, the still, and your, details will be included in our monthly return to SARS and be added to the register of stills at SARS. ...and off-course SARS may select to inspect your still at any time thereafter - remember to get your still permit from SARS Excise (DA 104 and other forms) after our inspection.
If he still does not comply to requirements, and cannot be repaired to standard, we would unfortunately not issue a serial plate but you will still be liable for the fees payable.
The indicated price for inspecting and providing you with a report is a base price. For each liter capacity of the still add:
- R2.00 for stills smaller than 200L
- R4.00 per liter for stills bigger than 200L and smaller than 500L
- R8.00 per liter for stills bigger than 500L up to 1500L
Unfortunately we do not inspect the following stills:
- Pressurised stills
- Stills larger than 2500L
- Continuous stills
- Stills other than for water, essential oil or potable alcohol (ethanol).
The costs indicated here excludes any repairs/modification costs and travelling/accommodation if required to inspect the still at your place.
