How do I make Apple Pie Vodka or Rum?

Heat 4 liters of Apple Juice to approximately 55 degrees Celsius (do not exceed 65 degrees Celsius).

Add the following ingredients:

  • 250 ml of Honey
  • 2 Teaspoons of Cinnamon Oil (available from several Health Stores and Pharmacies)
  • 2 Teaspoons of Nutmeg

Stir all the ingredients until they are dissolved.

Let the mixture cool down to room temperature (about 20 to 25 degrees Celsius).

Add one 750 ml bottles of Vodka, Rum or even Brandy.

Stir for about a minute.

Pour into Mason Jars (wide neck for easy filling and decanting) and let the product stabilize for two weeks.

If after two weeks there is any sediment, filter through several coffee filters to remove.

If there is no sediment, but the liquid is hazy, put in the fridge overnight, and then filter to remove.

NOTE: Average alcohol percentage at the end should be about 7.5% ABV, which would make it more of a Spirit Cooler, than anything else. If two bottles are used, the ABV% will be 11%, and with three bottles it will be 15%. The corresponding volumes will be 5 lt, 5.75 lt and 6.5 lt.
