Why use Distillique Services?
With more than 39 Years of Distilling experience, more than 1200 Stills sold, more than 9000 people from 40 different Countries trained, and after spending more than 11 years in the industry, Distillique is THE most knowledgeable, experienced and service provider in South Africa for Home and Craft Distillers.
Our team includes Engineers with Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical backgrounds, Winemakers, and a Microbiologist, with various consultants
Importing Distilling Equipment yourself is a risk (and not always cheaper). The biggest issues, however, arise in that unforeseen incidents where something goes wrong. Who will you turn to? Will you need to fly in a consultant or technician (more often than not, having to employ a translator as well). Will you return the equipment, at great personal cost, both in time or money, or will you have to find some local that may or may not be able to assist you?
Who is allowed to provide Services to a Distillery?
Even if you do manage to find a local service provider able to assist - are they allowed to work on your equipment? You may be voiding a warranty, or even worse, breaking the law.
Under the South African Revenue Services' Customs and Excise Rules of 1995, under Section 63 of the Act, only a Licensed Individual or Company may Build Stills, Import Stills, Sell Still, or Repair Stills. It is therefore illegal for any Unlicensed Company to provide these services.
