Starch indicator is used to indicate whether or not a successful starch conversion has taken place.
Instructions:
- Place a small amount of you sample onto a white surface
- Place a few drops of the indicator on top of the sample
- Note if any colour changes have occured
Results:
- Positive starch test (starches are present): The indicator will change from a light brown colour to a blue/black colour
- Negative starch tests (no starches are present): The indicator will remain a light brown colour.
